Shehnaaz Gill-starrer ‘Ikk Kudi’ to hit big screen on Sept 19

“Ikk Kudi”, starring Shehnaaz Gill in the lead role, is set to release in theatres worldwide on September 19.

Gill, who made her acting debut with a Punjabi film “Sat Shri Akaal England” in 2017, gained popularity after featuring in the reality show “Bigg Boss 13”, which aired in 2019.

She made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan starrer-“Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” in 2023. The film also featured Pooja Hegde and Daggubati Venkatesh.

The 31-year-old actor posted a story on her Instagram handle on Wednesday, announcing the release date. The film was previously slated to release on June 13.

“‘Ikk Kudi’ in cinemas 19th Sept 2025,” read the text.

Written and directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, “Ikk Kudi” is presented by Raaya Picturez, Shehnaaz Gill Production and Amor Film.

It is produced by Gill alongside Kaushal Joshi and Saron.

Selena Gomez to feature in ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ season 2

Actor-singer Selena Gomez will reprise her role of Alex Russo in the second season of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place”. Created by Todd J Greenwald, the show is a spinoff of the 2007 sitcom, which starred Gomez alongside David Henrie, Jake T Austin, Jennifer Stone, David DeLuise, and Maria Canals-Barrera.

The first season of the spinoff series released in 2024 and featured Gomez in two episodes. According to the entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter, the 32-year-old actor is preparing to return for the second season.

Cinema veteran Naseeruddin Shah on Monday defended Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh amid backlash over Pakistani actor Hania Aamir’s role in “Sardaar Ji 3”, saying casting is not the actor-musician’s responsibility.

The row began last week after Dosanjh shared the trailer of “Sardaar Ji 3”, which made its debut in overseas territories on June 27 and skipped release in India. Many social media users have called for a ban on Dosanjh, while trade unions like the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) and the Federation of Western lndia Cine Employees (FWICE) have criticised the Punjabi actor-musician for collaborating with Aamir in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
