Purani Dilli 6 secured a playoff spot in the Delhi Premier League T20 tournament with a 33-run victory over Central Delhi Kings, thanks to Lalit Yadav’s unbeaten 46 off 29 balls and Prince Yadav’s impressive 3/15.

After being sent in to bat, Purani Dilli 6 posted a total of 173 for 6 in their 20 overs. They then delivered a strong bowling performance, restricting Central Delhi Kings to 140 for 8 on Monday night.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Purani Dilli 6 capitalized on the early swing, reducing Central Delhi Kings to 39 for 2 during the Powerplay. Prince Yadav made the first breakthrough by dismissing Dhruv Kaushik, followed by a run-out for the second wicket.

Lakshay Thareja, who had started well, was dismissed for 34 off 26 balls in the ninth over, leaving Central Delhi Kings at 57 for 3 by the halfway mark. Shivam Sharma later dismissed Hiten Dalal (27 off 25) in the 14th over, as the required run rate climbed above 12.

Though Central Delhi Kings crossed the 100-run mark in the 15th over, they struggled to keep up with the chase. Prince Yadav claimed his second wicket by dismissing impact substitute Aryan Rana (8 off 10) in the 17th over, solidifying Purani Dilli 6’s control of the game.

Jonty Sidhu reached his fifty in 31 balls in the 19th over but was caught and bowled by Prince Yadav in the same over. Ayush Singh Thakur then picked up two wickets in the final over, ensuring a commanding win for Purani Dilli 6 as they advanced to the playoffs.

Earlier, Purani Dilli 6 faced a challenging start to their innings, losing three wickets during the Powerplay with only 38 runs on the board. Keshav Dalal and Yug Gupta steadied the innings with timely boundaries, but Central Delhi Kings’ Jonty Sidhu broke the partnership by dismissing Dalal for 28 off 20 balls in the 11th over.
