India were put into bat by England in their sixth league game of the ongoing World Cup, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium here in Lucknow on Sunday.

This is only the second time in the tournament that India captain Rohit Sharma lost the toss and the first time that India will be defending a total.

Both the teams fielded unchanged playing XIs.

While India are sitting pretty in second position on points table, a win here will help them move to the top, ahead of New Zealand.

England are at the bottom of the table, in 10th place. They have won only one game as opposed to 100% success by opponents India.

India: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicket-keeper), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj

England: Jos Buttler (wicket-keeper/captain), Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood
