Motorola Edge 70 debuts in India with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4: Price, specs and features

Motorola has expanded its Edge lineup in India with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70, a premium mid-range smartphone that emphasises sleek design, durability, fast charging and a suite of artificial intelligence features.

Price and availability

The Motorola Edge 70 is priced at Rs 29,999 for the sole variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Buyers can avail of an additional Rs 1,000 discount through select bank card offers.

The smartphone will be available for purchase via Flipkart, the Motorola India website and authorised offline retail outlets. It comes in three Pantone-certified colour options — Bronze Green, Gadget Grey and Lily Pad.

Display, design and durability

The Edge 70 features a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

In terms of design, the handset sports an aircraft-grade aluminium frame and measures just 5.99mm in thickness, while weighing about 159 grams. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification.

Performance and software

Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 70 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI on top.

Motorola has promised three major Android OS updates and four years of security patches. The phone also comes with a range of Moto AI features, including Next Move, Catch Me Up 2.0, Pay Attention 2.0, Remember This with Recall and Co-pilot.

Cameras

For photography, the Edge 70 sports a triple rear camera setup housed in a square module. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a three-in-one light sensor.

On the front, the smartphone packs a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. It supports video recording at up to 4K resolution at 60fps and offers AI-backed features such as AI Video Enhancement, AI Action Shot and AI Photo Enhancement.

Battery and charging

The Motorola Edge 70 is equipped with a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 31 hours of video playback. Charging options include 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging, making it one of the more versatile offerings in its segment.
