Motorola has unveiled its first entry-level smartphone of 2025, the Moto G05, continuing the success of its highly popular G-series. Known for delivering budget-friendly options with premium features, the Moto G05 is no exception. This new model combines an attractive design with a large 6.67-inch display, keeping up with the G-series legacy of providing great value for money.

Price and Availability

The Moto G05 has been launched in India at an affordable price of Rs 6,999. The device will come in a single storage configuration with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will be available for purchase starting January 13, 2025, at 12 PM via Flipkart, Motorola’s official website, and select retail stores. Buyers can choose between two stylish colour options—Forest Green and Plum Red—both featuring a vegan leather back panel.

Specs and Features

The Moto G05 boasts a 6.67-inch display with a peak brightness of 1000 nits and a 90Hz refresh rate, offering an immersive viewing experience even in bright environments. Designed with a notch-less layout, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, ensuring durability. It also includes an adaptive auto mode that adjusts the refresh rate from 90Hz to 60Hz based on the content to help optimize battery performance. The phone is equipped with dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos, along with Hi-Res Audio for an enhanced audio experience. The display also features Water Touch Technology, which adjusts sensitivity when the user has wet or sweaty hands.

The Moto G05 is one of the first smartphones in its segment to run Android 15 out of the box, bringing new privacy controls, security enhancements, and customization options for users.

For photography, the Moto G05 sports a 50MP rear camera system with Quad Pixel technology and Night Vision Mode. The 8MP front camera includes Face Retouch for improved selfies. The phone offers a variety of camera modes, including portrait, Time Lapse, Live Filter, Panorama, and Leveller. Additionally, it comes with advanced editing tools such as Google Photo Editor, Magic Unblur, Magic Eraser, and Magic Editor.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The Moto G05 supports RAM Boost technology, allowing for an expansion of up to 12GB for better multitasking performance. Storage is expandable up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card slot, and the phone also features a triple SIM card slot for additional flexibility.

The Moto G05 is backed by a powerful 5200mAh battery that promises up to two full days of use on a single charge, with support for 18W fast charging.

With its impressive features and competitive price, the Moto G05 is set to capture the attention of budget-conscious consumers looking for a feature-packed smartphone.
