Following the debut of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, several smartphone makers have revealed plans for flagship devices powered by the new chipset. Among them is OnePlus, which is preparing to unveil the OnePlus 15 in China next month. A global launch, however, has not yet been confirmed.

Launch timeline

The OnePlus 15 5G is expected to make its debut in China in October 2025, though the official date has not been announced. Based on past release cycles, the global and India launch could follow in January 2026.

Design and display

Leaked images suggest the OnePlus 15 will feature a redesigned rear panel. Unlike the company’s trademark circular camera module, the new model may adopt a rectangular camera island positioned at the top right of the back panel. The design resembles that of the OnePlus 13 series, which was well-received by buyers. Reports also point to a new customisable button that can be configured for multiple functions.

On the front, the device is expected to sport a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED flat display with curved edges, ultra-thin 1.15mm bezels, 165Hz refresh rate, and 1.5K resolution.

Camera

The OnePlus 15 5G is rumoured to house a triple-camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main lens, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Speculation also points to a possible 200MP periscope telephoto lens, though confirmation will likely come at launch. Additionally, reports suggest OnePlus may end its collaboration with Hasselblad and introduce its own imaging system.

Performance and battery

The OnePlus 15 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, promising stronger performance and advanced AI integration. The device is tipped to offer up to 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, running OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 with enhanced UI and AI features.

Battery capacity is expected to be a standout feature, with a 7000mAh unit supporting 120W wired fast charging.

Price in India

According to market trends, the OnePlus 15 5G is likely to launch in India at around Rs 70,000, similar to the pricing of the OnePlus 13. No price increase has been reported so far.
