Realme launched its latest flagship smartphone, the GT 8 Pro, in India, unveiling a new modular camera design and a photography system co-developed with Japanese imaging brand Ricoh. The device, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, starts at Rs 72,999. The company has also introduced a special Dream Edition inspired by the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.

The GT 8 Pro comes in three variants: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage priced at Rs 72,999; 16GB RAM with 512GB storage at Rs 78,999; and the 16GB RAM, 512GB storage Dream Edition at Rs 79,999. The phone will go on sale from November 25 on Realme’s website, Flipkart and select retail outlets. Customers can avail a Rs 5,000 discount on ICICI, HDFC and SBI cards, along with no-cost EMI options of up to six months. Realme is also bundling a Deco set that allows users to switch between circular and rectangular camera island designs, while the Dream Edition can be purchased with no-cost EMIs of up to 12 months.

Powered by Qualcomm’s newest flagship processor and Realme’s Hyper Vision AI chip, the GT 8 Pro promises enhanced graphics and imaging performance. The company claims the dual-chip setup enables native 2K Super Resolution and 120Hz Super Frame Rate in supported games. It also features the GT Boost 3.0 engine, which uses AI to balance thermals, power consumption and frame rates during prolonged gaming sessions.

Realme has placed significant emphasis on camera upgrades through its partnership with Ricoh. The phone is equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 200MP periscopic telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. With Ricoh’s involvement, the device introduces a GR Mode designed to replicate the brand’s signature GR-series style, along with five GR-inspired film tones — Positive Film, Negative Film, Standard, High-Contrast B&W and Monotone — to give users more creative control over their photos.

The GT 8 Pro will be available in two finishes: Diary White, featuring frosted glass, and Urban Blue, which uses a paper-textured vegan leather back. Its standout design element is a customisable camera module that lets users swap between different shapes based on their preference. On the front, the device sports a 6.79-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and an exceptionally high peak brightness of up to 7,000 nits. The phone is powered by a 7,000mAh battery that supports 120W wired charging and carries an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.

The GT 8 Pro runs Realme UI 7 based on Android 16 and offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It also includes a 32MP front camera, 120W wired and 50W wireless charging support, rounding off Realme’s most ambitious flagship package yet.
