Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its much-anticipated Xiaomi 15 series in India on March 2. The lineup is expected to include two models—the Xiaomi 15 and its high-end counterpart, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. While official details remain scarce, leaks suggest that the Indian variants will closely mirror the models released in China last year.
Expected features and specifications
Reports indicate that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be available in three colour options: Black, White, and a distinctive Black-and-White variant resembling a panda. The Xiaomi 15 is likely to feature a 6.36-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and ultra-thin 1.38mm bezels. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to sport a larger 6.73-inch 2K micro-curved display for an immersive viewing experience.
Under the hood, both models are rumoured to come with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, with an option to upgrade to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The Xiaomi 15 is said to be powered by a 5,500mAh battery, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. In comparison, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to pack a 6,100mAh battery with similar charging capabilities.
Camera and imaging
Photography enthusiasts can expect a Leica-engineered 50MP triple-camera setup on both models. However, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to offer a periscope-style telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, whereas the Xiaomi 15 may feature a 3x optical zoom.

Both smartphones are also expected to come with a 32MP front camera for high-resolution selfies and video calls.
Pricing and market competition
In China, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra debuted at CNY 6,499 (approximately Rs 78,000 or $892), while the Xiaomi 15 was introduced at CNY 4,499 (around Rs 53,000 or $617). However, Xiaomi has yet to confirm the pricing strategy for the Indian market. Given that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was launched at Rs 99,999 for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant, it remains to be seen how competitively the new models will be positioned.
With its premium features and top-tier specifications, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to rival flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max. More details, including official pricing and availability, will be revealed at the launch event on March 2.
