Four incidents of rape reported in 2 days, majority of victims are minors

A series of sexual assault cases were reported across India in only two days. Majority of the victims were reportedly minors.

In Ghaziabad (Delhi NCR) a 19-year-old woman, employed with a private company, was gangraped allegedly by three youths after a birthday party in Modi Nagar town. Her drink was laced with sedatives, police said.

All three accused identified as Shekhar, Krishna and Arjun have been arrested.

After her drink was spiked, a man took her to a room and also called his friends and they took turns to rape her.

When she was in a semi-conscious state, she opposed them. The accused thrashed the woman and threatened her to kill if she disclosed the incident before anyone. They then fled the spot.

The survivor later reached home and narrated her ordeal to her family. On Monday, she reached the Modi Nagar police station along with her father and lodged an FIR.

Police sent the woman for medical examination, which confirmed that she was gang raped.

Teenage boy apprehended for abducting, raping 3-year-old girl

A three-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a teenage boy in Haryana’s Nuh. According to police, the father of the minor girl in his complaint said that on Tuesday morning while his wife was on her way to a field, their minor daughter followed her.

The woman, unaware that the girl was walking behind her in the distance, did not notice the 14-year-old boy abducting her daughter.

“After sometime when I was heading to the field I heard my daughter crying. She was in very bad condition and I took her to hospital,” the father said in the police complaint.

The boy fled from the spot and police was informed about the incident, he wrote.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Nuh) Varun Singla told PTI, “We formed a special team into the matter and apprehended the boy within five hours after the incident took place. The victim is in critical condition and was being treated in a hospital.

Police said an FIR was lodged and the 14-year-old boy will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday.

12-year-old girl raped by neighbour in UP’s Pilibhit

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour on Tuesday, police said. The incident took place when the girl was alone in her house and the accused Sukhlal entered and raped her, Station House Officer, Puranpur, Ashok Pal told PTI.

The accused has been detained, police said.

On the complaint of the girl’s father, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Circle officer, Virendra Vikram Singh told PTI that the girl has been admitted to the medical college for treatment and her condition was stated to be out of danger.

In the complaint, the girl’s age is mentioned as 12 years but the police is yet to receive documents for ascertaining the exact age, he said.

Teenage girl allegedly kidnapped and raped in Goa; family driver among four held

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped multiple times in Vasco town of Goa, and police have arrested the driver employed by her family along with three other men in this connection.

The girl had gone missing from her house on August 11, Vasco police inspector Kapil Nayak told PTI.

“After the disappearance of the girl, her mother had filed a missing person’s report. During the investigation, the minor was traced in an area under the jurisdiction of Vasco police station and was rescued on Tuesday,” he said.

In her statement, the girl said she was raped by the four accused on separate occasions. The accused included the driver employed by her family, Nayak said.

The Vasco police arrested the four accused Mukund Rawal (35), Guruvenkatesh Guruswamy (30), Kush Jaiswal (30) and Aftar Hussain (23), he said, adding that all of them were booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376 (rape) and 363 (kidnapping), and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Goa Children’s Act.

Gurugram security guard of society arrested for raping minor

A security guard of a residential society was arrested for repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl, police said on Tuesday, adding the victim’s mother works in the residential complex.

The accused was identified as Satnam Singh. Police said he also threatened the victim who is a class 8 student.

On the basis of a complaint by the victim’s mother, an FIR was registered at Kherki Daula police station on Monday.

According to police, the matter came to fore when the accused held the girl’s hand in presence of her mother.

“I slapped him. Only after that my daughter confided to me that the accused already raped her four times, the mother said in her complaint.

The mother told police that she works in the Sector 84 society and her daughter often comes to meet her after school.

The accused had been doing this since January and would threaten my daughter that if she tells anyone, he will stop our entry into the society. He also lured my daughter to get her a mobile phone and new clothes,” she said.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered under POCSO Act and police nabbed the accused on Monday night.

The accused guard confessed that he committed the crime. He was produced in a city court that sent him to judicial custody, said Rajender Singh, SHO of Kherki Daula police station.
