Ganesh Chaturthi has grown into one of the most-awaited festivals in Delhi. What started as small community gatherings is now celebrated with huge pandals, towering idols, devotional music, and cultural programmes that bring together people from all walks of life. If you’re in the Capital this festive season, here are the five biggest Ganesh pandals in Delhi you cannot miss:

Dwarka Ganesh Mandal (Sector 11, Dwarka)

Dwarka hosts one of the grandest and most vibrant Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Delhi. The idol here is among the tallest in the city, and every year it is crafted with a unique theme. The pandal is decorated with elaborate designs, lighting, and floral arrangements that make it a true crowd-puller. Alongside daily aartis, the mandal organises cultural performances, bhajans, and even social service activities like blood donation camps. Thousands of devotees visit each day, especially during evening prayers when the energy peaks.

RK Puram Ganesh Utsav

This is one of the oldest Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Delhi, led largely by South Indian communities. The pandal is known for its traditional touch—authentic rituals, Vedic chanting, and devotional music that transport you straight to Tamil Nadu or Karnataka. Along with bhajans and dance performances, the Utsav is also popular for its prasad distribution, especially delicious modaks and laddoos. If you want to experience Ganesh Chaturthi in its most spiritual form, RK Puram is the place to go.

Uttam Nagar Ganesh Pandal

Famous for its massive Ganesh idol, the Uttam Nagar pandal attracts visitors from across Delhi. The atmosphere is buzzing with devotion, cultural activities, and evening gatherings where families come together. The decorations here are always eye-catching, often inspired by mythological themes. The pandal also hosts plays, musical nights, and community feasts, making it more than just a place for darshan—it’s an all-round festive experience.

Maharashtra Bhawan Ganeshotsav (KG Marg, Connaught Place)

If you want to witness a traditional Maharashtrian Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, Maharashtra Bhawan should top your list. The festival here is celebrated with dhol-tasha performances, lezim dances, and authentic Maharashtrian food stalls. The highlight, of course, is the beautifully adorned idol of Bappa, surrounded by cultural activities throughout the 10 days. Evening aartis here are a must-watch, with the beats of drums creating a truly Mumbai-like Ganesh Utsav vibe in the heart of Delhi.

Sarojini Nagar Vinayak Mandir

One of Delhi’s most famous Ganesh temples, Sarojini Nagar Vinayak Mandir becomes a major attraction during the festival. The temple is decorated with flowers, lights, and colourful rangolis. Thousands of devotees line up for darshan every day, while the temple committee organises special aartis and bhajan evenings. Since it is located in a busy neighbourhood, the celebration spills into the surrounding streets, turning the entire area into a festive hub.
