Police have recovered a lifeless body of a transgender individual in the vicinity of Japanese Park in Rohini area on Thursday.

The 25-year-old was found dead with a stab wound.

In response to the tragic murder, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal restated his government’s demand for control over the Delhi Police.

Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi, “The Delhi Police should be entrusted to the people of Delhi, as LG Sahib and Amit Shah Ji seem incapable of taking any action. How much longer will the people of Delhi have to endure? There is an atmosphere of fear prevailing throughout the city. However, those in power show no interest, intention, or plan to ensure the safety of Delhi’s citizens. How long can the people tolerate this situation? Power cannot be exercised without responsibility and accountability.”

The police reported that the body was discovered at approximately 4 am and exhibited a stab wound to the chest. The exact number of stab wounds will be determined during the postmortem examination. Forensic experts have examined the location and suggested that the incident occurred elsewhere, with the body subsequently being dumped near the park, as stated by a senior police officer.

A case has been registered at Prashant Vihar police station, and an investigation is currently underway. The police have identified several suspects and formed teams to apprehend the perpetrators, the officer confirmed.
