In an unsettling turn of events, a female housekeeping staff member, employed on a contractual basis at North Delhi’s Burari Government Hospital, has come forward with serious accusations against her manager and three supervisors. According to the police, the woman alleges that she, along with two other employees, was subjected to molestation and harassment.

The accused individuals, identified as Rajkumar (manager) and supervisors Neeraj, Adarsh, and Deepak, all associated with Global Venture, a firm responsible for providing manpower services to the hospital, have been booked based on the woman’s complaint. They have been summoned to participate in the ongoing investigation, as confirmed by a police official.

According to the complainant, the incidents occurred on December 17 and December 19, involving molestation and harassment by the four accused. The situation escalated on December 19 when the victims were reportedly abused and threatened with job termination if they did not comply with unjust demands, according to an official statement.

The Burari Police station registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) on December 19.

The accused have been booked and detained under Section 41A of the CrPC, and the investigation is currently underway, according to another police officer. The victims’ statements have been recorded before a magistrate, and they have undergone medical examinations and counseling.

Expressing concern over the incident, the National Commission for Women (NCW) issued a statement condemning the alleged misconduct and called for prompt action against the accused. The NCW has directed the deputy commissioner of police, North Delhi, to provide an action-taken report and a copy of the FIR within two days.

Additionally, the Delhi Commission for Women has issued notices to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Burari and the Medical Superintendent of the Burari Government Hospital, seeking an action-taken report within three days in response to this distressing situation.
