A 50-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her son after she reportedly refused to let him move to Canada for work, Delhi police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred in Molarband village in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur area.
On the evening of November 6, the accused, Krishna Kant (31), allegedly killed his mother and then called his father, Surjeet Singh (52), asking him to come home.
When Singh arrived, Krishna Kant reportedly apologized and asked him to go upstairs to see what had happened, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Ravi Kumar Singh.

Upon going to the first floor, Singh found his wife, Geeta, lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. Meanwhile, Krishna Kant had fled.
Singh rushed Geeta to Apollo Hospital, where she was declared dead.
The DCP shared that Singh has two sons. His younger son, Sahil Bholi (27), works at a bank, while Krishna Kant, who was unemployed and struggled with drug addiction, was at home with Geeta during the incident.
Krishna Kant was later apprehended in the same area, and a murder case has been registered against him.
During questioning, he disclosed that he had wanted to move to Canada, but his family had insisted he marry first. On the day of the incident, an argument escalated, and Krishna Kant stabbed his mother with a knife he had purchased earlier.
Singh is a property dealer with an office on Tanki Road in Jaitpur, the DCP added.
