A 21-year-old student and part-time model was allegedly stabbed to death inside her rented home in Tilak Nagar area of west Delhi on Wednesday evening, with police suspecting her gym trainer, identified as Imran, of being behind the killing.

The victim, identified as Muskan, was alone at her second-floor residence in the New Mahavir Nagar area when the attack took place. According to preliminary police findings, she suffered multiple stab wounds, including injuries to her abdomen and other parts of the body. She was rushed to a hospital after a PCR call was received, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Police said Imran allegedly entered the house, attacked Muskan with a knife and fled the spot. Multiple teams have been deployed to trace him, while investigators are examining CCTV footage from the locality to establish his movements and escape route.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Gupta said the police were searching for the accused and examining CCTV footage as part of the investigation. The exact motive behind the killing has not yet been established and is expected to become clearer after the suspect is arrested and questioned.

Neighbours reportedly rushed to Muskan’s residence after hearing her cries for help and found her seriously injured and lying in a pool of blood. They alerted the authorities and helped in getting her to hospital.

According to reports, Muskan and Imran knew each other and had reportedly been associated for around one-and-a-half years. Imran worked as a trainer at the gym Muskan attended. Relatives and people known to the family also told investigators that he had been seen in the area earlier.

Muskan’s friend Aman said she was the youngest of three sisters. He said one of her sisters, who was in Chandigarh, called him after learning about the attack and asked him to rush to the house.

“I immediately called my friend and told him to reach the house quickly and take her to the hospital. By the time I reached there, the ambulance had already arrived,” Aman said.

Aman also claimed that Muskan’s sisters had earlier told him that Imran used to harass her and that there had been a similar incident in the past. Police have not yet publicly confirmed the allegations or established whether they were connected to Wednesday’s killing.

The case remains under investigation. Police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence, while a search is underway for Imran. Muskan’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and establish the nature of the injuries.
