Four individuals have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy due to prior conflicts in the Dakshinpuri area of south Delhi, police said.
“On November 29 around 8 pm, a PCR call alerted the police to an attack by a group of four or five men on a young individual, resulting in multiple stab wounds,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary.
Upon receiving the call, a police team rushed to the scene, but the injured had already been taken to AIIMS hospital for urgent medical attention, preventing immediate assessment of the victim’s statement.
“Upon inspection by the crime team, it was discovered that the victim, a minor, had sustained six stab wounds and was not in a condition to provide a statement,” the DCP said.
Subsequently, it was confirmed that the victim had succumbed to the injuries, leading to the registration of an FIR under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) at the Ambedkar Nagar Police Station. The authorities initiated an investigation and, following an analysis of CCTV footage, apprehended four individuals—Tusar (18), Varun (18), Bhupender (22), and Vinay (21), all residents of Madangir.
“Bhupender, during interrogation, revealed a past dispute with the victim, who had allegedly slapped him on Diwali,” said DCP Chowdhary, shedding light on the motive behind the tragic incident. (With inputs from PTI)
