Delhi: Four men have been arrested in two separate robbery cases in the national capital, police said on Sunday. Authorities also confirmed the recovery of a portion of the stolen cash and jewellery.
In the first case, the robbery occurred in the Pul Prahladpur area on May 28. Following the incident, police teams launched an investigation.
Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended two suspects — Sabir (19) and Shahid (19) — both residents of Pul Prahladpur, officials said.
During questioning, the duo confessed to committing the robbery, police added.
Two gold chains valued at Rs 5.5 lakh were recovered from their possession. A background check revealed that Shahid had previously been involved in a theft case registered at the Inderpuri police station in 2022.
The second case involved a robbery at gunpoint reported from Dayalpur, in northeast Delhi, on May 27. The complainant, Mukul (38), a Brahmpuri resident who operates an authorised SBI Customer Service Point in Nehru Vihar, informed police that he was robbed around 8:15 PM while returning home.
He was intercepted by two men on a motorcycle who snatched his bag containing approximately Rs 1 to Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and other important documents before fleeing the scene.
Police reviewed footage from over 50 CCTV cameras to track the culprits. Based on the analysis, two suspects — Rizwan (24) and Ashif (26), both from Nehru Vihar — were arrested.
