A 26-year-old man, residing in Galibpur village in Najafgarh, southwest Delhi, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a homicide in Baba Harida Nagar area.
The incident occurred on June 12 when the lifeless body of Dhirendra (38) was discovered in his taxi near Khaira Mor.
Investigations have revealed that accused Chattan Singh had visited Khaira Mor to meet Dhirendra, and both individuals sat inside the victim’s car. Following an argument, Chattan Singh purportedly shot Dhirendra.
Upon analyzing the CCTV footage at the scene, the police focused their attention on Chattan Singh as the primary suspect. Raids were subsequently conducted, leading to the arrest of Singh on June 20 near Kakrola village, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan.
The police have also determined that Dhirendra was involved in a financial dispute with an individual who happened to be a friend of Chattan Singh. The accused allegedly intervened in their dispute, leading to heated arguments between all parties, including exchanges over the phone on the day of the alleged murder.
According to the DCP, Chattan Singh later went to Khaira Mor, where he fired at Dhirendra inside the victim’s car, resulting in his fatal injury.
