Two individuals, one of whom is a juvenile, have been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in this area, authorities revealed on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on March 18, when the girl said that she was assaulted by the two suspects, who are also her neighbors, while she was home alone.

A senior police official stated that a case was filed against the accused under pertinent sections of the IPC, including 376 (2), and the POCSO Act on the same day.

Junaid Khan (25) was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha, while the juvenile was detained in Delhi’s Shastri Nagar, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) M K Meena.

“Despite the accused frequently changing their mobile phones and locations, their call detail records were analyzed. Parallel raids were also conducted across various locations to prevent them from escaping,” Meena added.

“During interrogation, Khan and the juvenile admitted to their involvement in the offense,” DCP Meena stated.

According to police reports, Khan is also implicated in 20 criminal cases related to snatching, theft, and the Arms Act, registered at different police stations, including Keshav Puram, Seemapuri, and Paschim Vihar. (With inputs from PTI)
