The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday again closed 16 Metro stations across central Delhi from 7.30 am until further orders due to security reasons, a day after the same stations were reopened in the evening following hours-long restrictions.

According to the DMRC, entry and exit have been suspended at Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh and Shivaji Stadium stations.

However, interchange facilities will continue to remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat, allowing passengers to switch Metro lines without exiting the stations.

The same 16 stations had also been closed on Wednesday as a precautionary measure before being reopened later in the evening. The restrictions have now been reimposed amid continued security arrangements in the national capital.

The DMRC has advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternate routes until normal services are restored. The stations will remain closed until further instructions.
