The Delhi government has reduced the processing time of 84 single-window services and instant delivery of some others, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Wednesday.

The single-window system is a digital platform through which citizens and businesses can apply online and obtain a range of licences, permits, approvals and clearances at one place.

However, the CMO statement did not mention the reduced period of time.

She said the initiative is intended to make doing business in Delhi easier, improve transparency and efficiency of government services, and simplify government procedures for citizens and businesses alike.

A study was conducted by the IT department to assess the time taken to deliver services available through the single-window system, from the submission of an application to its final disposal, and to identify ways to reduce the processing time.

The study covered 18 departments and 95 services rendered by them through the single-window system, under the deregulation exercise, she said.

Based on the study, the processing time for 84 services available on the single-window system has been reduced. In addition, some services are now being provided instantly, the statement said.
