A resident of Ghaziabad found himself in hot water after authorities detained him in northeast Delhi’s Shastri Park area for engaging in reckless stunts with a black SUV sporting tinted windows.

Officials disclosed on Friday that the individual, identified as 22-year-old Anshul Chaudhary, was slapped with a hefty fine amounting to Rs 12,000, with his vehicle also confiscated.

Deputy Commissioner of Police for the northeast region, Joy Tirkey, revealed that on April 3, viral videos surfaced showcasing a black Mahindra Scorpio recklessly performing stunts on a bustling thoroughfare.

Promptly responding to the footage, law enforcement swiftly mobilised a team to locate the vehicle, ultimately tracking it down in the Shastri Park vicinity.

Reports indicated that the car was observed traveling against the authorized traffic flow and flaunting a defective and ornate number plate, obscuring its registration details. Consequently, authorities levied a substantial fine of Rs 12,000 and ensured the removal of the tint from the vehicle.

According to Tirkey, investigations revealed that the individual’s motive behind the dangerous stunt was to capture footage for social media, presumably aiming to amass a larger following.
