The Delhi Police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the sexual assault on a 16-year-old boy in a moving metro.

The alleged incident occurred on Friday night at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station.
The accused, identified as Jitender Gautam, is a graduate and employed in an organization under the daily wages scheme.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) Dr G Ramgopal Naik stated that a team of special staff metro led by Inspectors Sameer Srivastava and Tej Dutt Gaur was constituted, which successfully cracked the case.
After reviewing CCTV footage from 15 metro stations spanning from Rajiv Chowk to Jahangir Puri, police determined that Gautam disembarked the train at Jahangir Puri Metro Station.
“The travel history of the accused was examined, revealing that he boarded the metro from Kaushambi. Subsequently, teams were dispatched to Jahangir Puri and Kaushambi Metro stations to establish his identity and locate him,” a police officer explained.
Additional CCTV footage from the vicinity of Kaushambi Metro Station was scrutinized, leading to the identification of the accused using the service road after exiting the metro.
After conducting inquiries with various shopkeepers, guards, and locals, Gautam was identified and apprehended from Ambedkar Colony in northwest Delhi.
Although Gautam was found to have no prior criminal record, he is currently undergoing interrogation.
