Authorities in Delhi have seized cocaine worth Rs 1.5 crore and arrested two drug peddlers, including an African national, officials said on Friday.
The suspects, identified as 40-year-old Yao, an African national, and 23-year-old Bikas from Bihar, were found in possession of 141.9 grams of cocaine.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Akanksha Yadav, the duo was actively supplying cocaine across Delhi and the NCR. They were arrested near Bhikaji Cama Place after police received a tip-off. A trap was set, leading to their apprehension near a bus stop on Ring Road. A search of their belongings resulted in the recovery of the narcotics. Following this, an FIR was registered, and an investigation was initiated.
Police revealed that Yao came to India in 2018 on a tourist visa but remained in the country illegally after it expired. Initially, he sold small amounts of cocaine to sustain himself but later became involved in large-scale drug distribution.

Previously arrested in Gurugram and imprisoned in Bhondsi jail, Yao met Bikas, who was also jailed for a drug-related case. After their release, the two joined forces to expand their drug trade.
Bikas scouted locations to evade police detection, while Yao managed the distribution network, police added.
