Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a Rs 138 crore sewer development project in North East Delhi’s Karawal Nagar constituency, a statement said.

Gupta, alongwith Delhi BJP president and Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, announced the project in a public meeting held under Sewa Pakhwara of the party, marking 12 years of the Modi government at the Centre.

“Development works worth over Rs 300 crore have been approved in the Karawal Nagar Assembly constituency during the past year through the Chief Minister’s Development Fund, MLA Fund, and the Yamuna Paar Development Board,” Gupta said.

Work has commenced on a Rs 138-crore sewer line project, which will significantly speed up sewer infrastructure development in Sonia Vihar, Milan Garden, Chauhan Patti, Sabhapur Extension, and other areas, she said.

The chief minister stated that three Atal canteens have already been launched in the area. Additionally, three Arogya Mandirs have been approved to provide better healthcare facilities to citizens.

Malhotra said that along with providing Karawal Nagar a sewer development project, the government has also succeeded in making the Yamuna water from Sonia Vihar to Wazirabad “nearly clean”.

North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, Karawal Nagar MLA and Delhi minister Kapil Mishra, PWD minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, MLA Ajay Mahawar also attended the programme.
