Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art underground shooting range at the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Bhawan in Rohini, aimed at enhancing training facilities for the city’s cadets.
The new facility, equipped with advanced target systems and modern equipment, will remain operational round the clock, ensuring uninterrupted access for cadets throughout the year. Addressing the event, Atishi expressed her hope that the range would help produce future Olympians, drawing inspiration from athletes like Manu Bhaker.
“This facility provides cadets with a platform to refine their skills. I hope our next Olympic medal is won by an NCC cadet,” she said.
Atishi also highlighted the financial challenges faced by many aspiring athletes. “Sports training is often expensive, making it unaffordable for many talented youngsters whose families cannot bear the costs,” she said, adding that the new facility will offer quality training opportunities to athletes, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.
She further underscored the NCC’s role in fostering patriotism and leadership among the youth. “The NCC was established to inspire young minds to contribute to the nation. Its mission aligns with the Delhi government’s vision for empowering the youth,” Atishi said.
The initiative aims to strengthen the city’s sports ecosystem while promoting inclusivity in professional training.
