Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday flagged off 13 heatwave response vans for each district in the city, and urged people to take precautions against the intense summer heat.
She also released a heatwave action plan booklet detailing measures undertaken by the government to tackle rising temperatures.
The Delhi government has implemented the heatwave action plan across the city, under which oral rehydration solution (ORS) sachets, caps, gamchas, first aid kits and other items are being distributed, she said.
“We are concerned especially for workers who have to work outside and face the heat. All public and private organisations have been directed to take a work break between 1 PM to 4 PM,” Gupta said.
