Delhi government, in view of recent tragedies in areas such as Vivek Vihar and Palam, plans to prepare a firefighting masterplan aimed at preventing loss of life and properties, officials said on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, earlier on the day, held a high-level meeting with top officers and directed the departments concerned to submit all relevant facts and details in this regard within 10 days, Delhi CMO said.
The government will also launch an awareness campaign to promote fire safety and prevention, it said.
The masterplan will be aimed at preventing the rising incidents of fire outbreaks during the scorching summer season, and to prevent loss of life and property, it added.
