Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate Atishi shows her ink-marked finger after casting her vote
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate Atishi urged voters to participate in the ongoing assembly elections in the national capital, calling it a fight between good and evil. Arvind Kejriwal also highlighted the significance of voting to secure a bright future for Delhi’s children and reject politics driven by falsehoods and fear.
In a post on X, Atishi described the election as a Dharam Yuddh (a righteous battle). “Today’s election in Delhi is not just an election; it is a battle between good and evil, work and hooliganism. I appeal to all Delhiites to vote for work and goodness. Truth will prevail,” she stated.
After casting her vote from the Kalkaji Assembly seat, Atishi expressed hope that the people of Delhi would choose truth over lies and work over disorder.
Polling for Delhi’s 70 assembly seats began on Wednesday morning under tight security, with voting scheduled from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Among the most closely watched constituencies are New Delhi and Jangpura.
AAP, which currently holds a majority in the assembly, is seeking re-election based on its governance record. The New Delhi seat features a high-profile three-way contest between former CM Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), BJP’s Parvesh Verma, and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit, son of former CM Sheila Dikshit.
In Jangpura, AAP’s Manish Sisodia faces off against Congress’s Farhad Suri and BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah.
