In a move to ensure transparency, the Delhi government has adopted a randomisation process to post sub-registrars of the revenue department across 39 sub-divisions, a Delhi CMO statement said on Friday.

Earlier, there were 22 sub-registrar offices in Delhi, but now their number has increased to 39, one in each subdivision.

The postings at the direction of the chief minister, who holds the revenue department portfolio, were carried out through a technology-assisted randomisation process. The process was conducted in the presence of the additional chief secretary (Services), the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.

Under the process, some officers have been retained as sub-registrars while others have been transferred from other assignments and appointed to the post.

This time, the selection of officers for appointment as sub-registrars was based on specific criteria, including good health, an adequate remaining tenure, and clearance from vigilance checks.

The chief minister expressed satisfaction with the transparent and technology-driven process adopted for the posting of sub-registrars and called upon the appointees to work with complete honesty and dedication to provide better and more effective services to the people of Delhi.

The 13 sub-registrar offices, located in each of the 13 sub-divisions, are part of Delhi’s 13 revenue districts. These offices handle important matters regarding revenue and registration that directly impact the general public.
