Minister Kailash Gahlot has stated that the Delhi government intends to relaunch its doorstep delivery programme, which was put on hold when the organisations contracted to staff the 1076 helpline came to an end.

By scheduling a house visit by a “mobile sahayak” by calling the toll-free number 1076, residents of Delhi can take advantage of doorstep delivery of Delhi government services across multiple departments.

Gahlot announced on Thursday that he has given staff members instructions to draft a plan to relaunch the helpline by enlisting the aid of other organisations. He indicated that the cabinet has decided to extend the plan.

A “mobile sahayak” visits applicants’ residences as part of this programme, gathers and uploads all necessary paperwork, and then submits it to the relevant department.

The application submission fee is Rs 50 for the applicants.

A centralised phone centre was established to take complaints from applicants and handle them.

The Arvind Kejriwal administration introduced the doorstep delivery programme in September 2018 in an effort to remove the necessity for citizens to visit the offices of various departments and to do away with the middlemen who used to defraud them.

Under this programme, 30 services were provided at first, and then over time, 100 services.

Officials said that the government now intends to extend the program’s reach to 200 services. (With inputs from PTI)
