Delhi CM Rekha Gupta with LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu
Delhi Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta greeted people on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day on Saturday, calling upon them to join the effort of building a ‘developed India’.
In his Independence Day message shared on X, Sandhu asked people across the country — from the capital to every village and town — to unite with a renewed resolve to build a stronger, more prosperous and developed India, advancing the mission of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
“As our sacred Tiranga soars proudly across every corner of Bharat, we bow in eternal gratitude to the brave martyrs whose supreme sacrifices won us our freedom,” Sandhu said.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta greeted people saying the “sacred” Independence Day reminded of the struggle which granted India its freedom, and the resolve which will make India a developed nation.
“The responsibility to realise the dreams of the brave heroes who handed over a free India to us through their sacrifices and martyrdom rests with our generation today,” the chief minister wrote on X.
She said every citizen must devote their efforts to national service and nation building.
