Delhi experienced a minimum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius, slightly above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.
The IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius.
Officials said that the Delhi University area experienced extremely intense rainfall, recording 93 mm on Friday. “Extremely intense rainfall occurred over the Delhi University area on Friday, where 93 mm of rain was recorded,” stated an IMD official.
The weather station at Pitampura registered 10.5 mm and 10 mm of rain during a three-hour period.

Delhi’s primary weather station at Safdarjung recorded 34.8 mm of rainfall between 5:30 am and 8:30 am on Friday.
The IMD has issued a “yellow” alert for the city, predicting rain until July 28.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was in the ‘moderate’ category, with a reading of 122 at 9 am. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good,’ 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory,’ 101 and 200 ‘moderate,’ 201 and 300 ‘poor,’ 301 and 400 ‘very poor,’ and 401 and 500 ‘severe’. (With inputs from PTI)
