Delhi Metro to run 40 extra trips on weekdays to cut vehicular pollution

The Delhi Metro has announced the introduction of 40 additional train trips on weekdays, starting October 25, as part of its efforts to address the rising pollution levels in the national capital. T

his decision comes in the wake of the implementation of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-II measures.

In an official statement, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that these extra trips, set to begin on Wednesday, are a strategic initiative to boost the usage of public transport among commuters in the Delhi-NCR region.

According to the DMRC, the move is aimed at encouraging people to rely more on the efficient metro system, thereby reducing vehicular emissions and contributing to the fight against air pollution.

The Delhi Metro system, which already operates over 4,300 trips every day, plays a pivotal role in the city’s public transportation network. T
