Delhi Metro officials announced adjustments to the schedule of the last and first trains on Sunday and Monday, respectively, due to ongoing work on a 490-meter section of the Janakpuri West to R K Ashram corridor in Phase-IV of the Yellow Line.

This section, crossing over Haiderpur Badli Mor Metro station, is critical as it reaches a height of approximately 28.36 meters, marking the highest rail level in the entire Delhi Metro network.

Anuj Dayal, the principal executive director of corporate communications at DMRC, stated that on Sunday, the last train will depart at 10:45 pm from Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre Gurugram, instead of the usual 11 pm. Similarly, the last train from Millennium City Centre Gurugram to Samaypur Badli will depart at 9:30 pm instead of 11 pm.

On Monday, the first train service will commence at 7 am from Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre Gurugram, an hour later than usual. During this time, there will be no train services available between Samaypur Badli and Jahangirpuri from 11 pm on Sunday until 7 am on Monday.

However, regular train services will continue on the remaining major section of the Yellow Line from Jahangirpuri to Millennium City Centre Gurugram.

To ensure passenger convenience during these altered timings, announcements will be made at stations and inside trains on the Yellow Line, informing passengers about train destinations and respective platforms for transfers.

Dayal emphasized DMRC’s commitment to passenger convenience during such challenging engineering works, which are executed during limited night hours when passenger services are minimal.

Construction activities on this Phase IV section are restricted to night-time shutdowns between Samaypur Badli and Jahangirpuri, ensuring minimal disruption to regular services.

Similar adjustments to timings may be necessary over the coming weekend to complete the remaining work, as DMRC prioritizes avoiding weekday disruptions for the convenience of a larger number of passengers.
