
Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius on Friday, 4.2 notches above the season’s normal, while the air quality remained in the moderate category with an AQI of 173, according to official data.
Safdarjung and Lodi Road stations recorded minimum temperatures of 25.2 and 24.2 degrees Celsius, both 4.2 degrees above normal. Ayanagar recorded a minimum of 24.7 degrees Celsius, 3.8 notches above normal, while the Ridge and Palam stations recorded 23.8 and 22.7 degrees Celsius.
The weather office has forecast mainly clear skies, becoming partly cloudy towards the afternoon or evening.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.
Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 173 at 9.30 am, placing it in the moderate category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Under the CPCB’s AQI scale, readings between zero and 50 are classified as ‘good,’ 51 and 100 as ‘satisfactory,’ 101 and 200 as ‘moderate,’ 201 and 300 as ‘poor,’ 301 and 400 as ‘very poor,’ and 401 and 500 as ‘severe.
