Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory on Thursday in anticipation of the 21-kilometer Half Marathon organized by the Indian Navy, scheduled for Sunday.
As per the advisory, approximately 15,000 participants are expected to take part in the event, which will commence from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 5 am.
The marathon route will begin at the JLN Stadium Complex, covering Bhisham Pitamaha Marg, Lodhi Road, Mathura Road, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, C-Hexagon, Kartavyapath, Rafi Marg, Sansad Marg, the roundabout near Rail Bhawan, Janpath, India Gate Canopy, and back through C-Hexagon, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Mathura Road, Lodhi Road, Bhisham Pitamaha Marg, before concluding outside the stadium complex, the advisory detailed.
Traffic regulations will be in place from 4:45 AM to 9 PM, with provisions made to ensure the seamless movement of emergency vehicles. Cross-traffic movement at intersections along the marathon route will be permitted based on location and participant density, the advisory issued by Delhi traffic police stated.

To maintain smooth vehicular flow, traffic will be diverted from key points such as Kotla Red Light, Sewa Nagar Red Light on 4th Avenue, Jor Bagh Colony Road, Aurobindo Marg-Lodhi Road Junction, Rajesh Pilot Marg-Amrita Shergill Marg Junction, Subramaniam Bharti Marg-Max Mueller Marg Junction, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Neela Gumbad, and several roundabouts, including those near Man Singh Road, Sunehri Masjid, Gurudwara Rakabganj, and Gol Dak Khana.
The advisory urged commuters to cooperate with this celebration of fitness by avoiding roads and intersections near the marathon route and opting for the suggested alternate routes.
