Delhi Police issues traffic advisory for Ganapati Puja Mahotsav

Delhi Police has issued an advisory regarding traffic restrictions starting today around DDA Ground, Burari Bypass, due to the Ganapati Puja Mahotsav, the advisory said.

According to the advisory, the 8th Ganapati Puja Mahotsav, including Katha Parvachan, will take place at DDA Ground, Burari Bypass, Outer Ring Road from today until September 17, between 8 am and 12 pm.

A large crowd is expected, which may impact traffic on the surrounding roads, the advisory said.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, no vehicle will be allowed to stop or park on Arihant Marg from Mukundpur Chowk to Azadpur Chowk (both carriageways), Outer Ring Road from Burari Chowk to Mukundpur Chowk (both carriageways), and Shanti Swaroop Tyagi Marg to Bhai Parmanand Marg (from Burari Chowk to Parmanand Colony), the advisory added.

Vehicles parked on these roads will be towed and penalized as per the law, it mentioned.

Towed vehicles will be moved to temporary parking areas near Tara Singh Chowk or Shah Alam Bandh Road behind Majlis Park Metro Station, the advisory further stated.

Shah Alam Bandh Road (opposite Burari DDA Ground) and one carriageway on Bhai Parmanand Marg (opposite Burari DDA Ground) will remain closed, it said.

Traffic will be diverted from the red light at Bhai Parmanand Marg near Yograj Colony and Shah Alam Bandh Road (opposite Burari DDA Ground), the advisory continued.

Commuters have been urged to avoid Shanti Swaroop Tyagi Marg, Bhai Parmanand Marg (from Burari Chowk to Kingsway Camp Chowk), Outer Ring Road (from Burari Chowk to Mukundpur Chowk), Arihant Marg (both carriageways), and Shah Alam Bandh Marg, it advised.

The advisory also asked commuters to use public transport and avoid the mentioned roads. People travelling to ISBT, railway stations, or airports are advised to plan their journey carefully, allowing ample time for travel, it said…. (With inputs from PTI)
