
Traffic congestion surged across various parts of Delhi on from last few days due to the ongoing marriage season, causing significant inconvenience to commuters.
The Delhi Traffic Police issued a precautionary advisory, highlighting certain roads expected to witness heavy traffic influx owing to the wedding festivities. Commuters were urged to adhere to these guidelines to minimise disruptions.
Notably, extensive jams were reported along the Alipur bypass, Alipur to the Samaypur Khatu Shyam stretch, Mukarba Chowk flyover, and the Narela-to-bypass highway. A commuter shared their plight, having been stuck in a 40-minute standstill at Bawana, expressing dismay on ‘X’ platform.
The traffic chaos extended to various other areas, including the Delhi-Gurugram expressway, IIT region in south Delhi, Mukandpur main road, and the Nangli Puna underpass, where heavy traffic snarls were witnessed.
The advisory explicitly mentioned the anticipated high traffic volume on specific routes like Mandir Marg, NH-48 from Dhaula Kuan to Rajokri Flyover, Palam Road, Bijwasan-Najafgarh Road, Satguru Ram Singh Marg from Maya Puri Chowk to Lajwant Chowk Girdhari Lal Goswami Marg, Najafgarn Road from Zakhira to Dwarka Mor, Raja Garden, GT Road, Shahdara, and New Rohtak Road from roundabout Punjabi Bagh to Nangloi Chowk.
Commuters were earnestly requested to utilise public transportation to alleviate congestion on the roads. Additionally, they were advised to park their vehicles solely in designated lots, avoiding roadside parking, which disrupts the smooth flow of traffic. (With inputs from PTI)
