Delhi Police issues traffic advisory for Shab-e-Barat

Delhi Police has issued an advisory regarding traffic restrictions and diversions starting Thursday evening due to Shab-e-Barat.

According to the advisory, restrictions and diversions will be in effect from 5 PM in central Delhi until the event concludes on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

Traffic movement may be affected on several roads, including Netaji Subhash Marg, SPM Marg, Church Mission Road, Khari Baoli Road, Qutab Road, Maharaja Agarsain Marg, Subhash Park T-Point, Shanti Van Chowk, and Chhatta Rail Chowk.

Additionally, vehicular restrictions or diversions may also be in place on Fatehpuri T-Point, BH Rao Road, Rani Jhansi Road, Pahari Dheeraj, Sadar Thana Road, BSZ Marg, Bora Tooti Chowk, Rani Jhansi Road, Delhi Gate, Rajghat, and nearby stretches.

The advisory urged commuters to avoid areas where the Shab-e-Barat procession will occur. Travellers heading to Old Delhi Railway Station, ISBT, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, and Tis Hazari Courts should plan their trips in advance to prevent delays.

To reduce road congestion, the public is encouraged to use public transport, avoid roadside parking, and park only in designated areas.

The advisory also urged people to report any suspicious or unidentified objects or individuals to the nearest police personnel or PCR.
