The minimum temperature in the national capital on Sunday was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.3 degrees above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thunder and lightning development during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 38 degrees Celsius.
Relative humidity was measured at 56 per cent at 8:30 AM.
As per the data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s air quality was categorized as “moderate” at 9 am on Sunday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reading 198.
The CPCB classifies AQI levels as follows: 0–50 as ‘good’, 51–100 ‘satisfactory’, 101–200 ‘moderate’, 201–300 ‘poor’, 301–400 ‘very poor’, and 401–500 ‘severe’.
On Saturday evening, several parts of Delhi experienced gusty winds with speeds ranging between 40 and 70 kilometres per hour. The IMD reported wind speeds of 46 kmph in Najafgarh, 41 kmph in Narayana, 31 kmph in Pitampura, 56 kmph in Palam, and 48 kmph in Pragati Maidan — mostly between 4:15 pm and 4:30 pm.
These gusty conditions were attributed to a broader regional weather disturbance, which led to brief but intense activity across the National Capital Region (NCR), according to the IMD.
A warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds has been issued for the weekend.
The IMD expects a generally cloudy sky on Sunday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to settle around 38 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
