Delhi reports 119 Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths

Delhi recorded 119 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, along with a positivity rate of 5.5%, and three deaths linked to the virus, as per data shared by the city government’s Health department. This brings the total number of cases in Delhi to 20,40,115, and the death toll has reached 26,644.

The fresh cases were identified from 2,163 tests conducted the previous day, according to the bulletin. Currently, there are 920 active cases in the city, with 696 patients in home isolation.

The previous day, on Saturday, Delhi reported 113 cases with a positivity rate of 8.21% and three COVID-19-related deaths. On Friday, the city witnessed 142 cases with a positivity rate of 5.43% and one death. Additionally, on Thursday, it added 199 cases with a positivity rate of 7.07% and three deaths.

Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, Delhi recorded 272 cases with a positivity rate of 8.39% and one death. Tuesday saw 289 cases with a positivity rate of 9.74% and one death. On Monday, the city reported 259 cases with a positivity rate of 14.3% and two deaths.

Sunday’s bulletin also revealed that out of the 7,976 COVID-19 beds available at hospitals in the national capital, only 119 are currently occupied.

Delhi had previously reported zero cases on January 16, marking the first time since the start of the pandemic. However, the city has seen a rise in new cases over the past month. As a result, on April 11, mock drills were conducted in Delhi hospitals to assess their preparedness for any potential situation.
