The Delhi Traffic Police have reopened crucial roads, including Bhairon Marg and the stretch of Ring Road from ISBT Kashmere Gate to Timarpur and Civil Lines (Mall Road side), as the flood situation in the national capital improved.
Additionally, the Ring Road stretch from Sarai Kale Khan to IP Flyover to Rajghat is now accessible for light vehicles. However, the Ring Road stretch from Shanti Van to Monkey Bridge and Yamuna Bazar-ISBT remains closed.
The advisory further mentions that the Ring Road from Majnu Ka Tila to Hanuman Setu is closed, along with the carriageway from IP College to Chandgiram Akhara. The carriageway from Chandgiram Akhara to Shanti Van is also closed due to mud, as opening it may jeopardize the safety of commuters.
As for alternative routes, the traffic police have opened one carriageway from Hanuman Setu to Salim Garh bypass to IP Flyover. Commuters heading to Nizamuddin can use this road and then take a left turn from IP Flyover to Vikas Marg via Akshardham Setu loop.
Furthermore, both carriageways of the Outer Ring Road from Mukarba to Wazirabad are now open for traffic.
The old iron bridge at Pushta to Shamshan Ghat has been reopened, but the ISBT Kashmere Gate remains closed, according to the traffic police.
In terms of restrictions, heavy goods vehicles are prohibited from entering Delhi through various borders, including Singhu, Tikri, Rajokari, Badarpur, Chilla, Gazipur, Loni, Apsara, and Bhopura. However, vehicles carrying essential commodities and relief materials are exempt from these restrictions, as stated in the advisory.
Considering the high alert issued by the administration, the Delhi Traffic Police advises commuters to postpone travel plans to low-lying areas.
