
Delhi weather: The national capital on Thursday recorded a maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius at Ayanagar and Ridge stations, which is four notches above the average for the season, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
However, the city witnessed a minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius at Ridge, as per the IMD. The relative humidity in the weather was reported at 41% at 5.30 PM.
The Safdarjung Observatory, the base station of Delhi, recorded a maximum temperature of 43.9 degrees Celsius, which is four notches above normal for this time of the year, the meteorological department stated.
On the other hand, the minimum temperature at Safdarjung Observatory was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 notches above average, as per the IMD.

Apart from this, Palam and Lodhi Road reported maximum temperatures of 43.9 degrees Celsius and 42.8 degrees Celsius, respectively, as per data released by the IMD.
“For June 13, the city will witness a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will settle at 29 degrees Celsius. The city is likely to witness a thunderstorm with rain on the same day,” the IMD forecast said. Notably, the weather department has also issued a yellow alert for June 13.
IMD has predicted that the city will record a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius on June 14.
On June 15 and 16, the capital will witness thunderstorms with rain, while the maximum temperature will settle at 40 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius, respectively, IMD further predicted.
Meanwhile, on June 11, Delhi witnessed a maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung Observatory, 3.4 degrees Celsius above normal, and a sweltering heat index of 51.9 degrees Celsius due to humidity, stated the IMD.

The spike in humidity between 31% and 73% further increased the intensity of the discomfort already faced by the Delhiites.
The weather department also informed that Ayanagar weather station registered the city’s highest temperature at 45 degrees Celsius, just qualifying for a heatwave, as Lodhi Road recorded the lowest daytime temperatures on June 11.
