The national capital on Saturday experienced a minimum temperature of 4.3 degrees Celsius, which is four notches below the seasonal average, the India Meteorological Department said.
Despite the chilly weather, the city grappled with high pollution levels, as indicated by its Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am, reaching 402 and falling within the ‘severe’ category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board.
For reference, the AQI scale categorizes air quality as follows: 0-50 (‘good’), 51-100 (‘satisfactory’), 101-200 (‘moderate’), 201-300 (‘poor’), 301-400 (‘very poor’), and 401-500 (‘severe’).
The IMD’s forecast predicts a mainly clear sky throughout the day, with the maximum temperature expected to linger around 22 degrees Celsius.
As of 8:30 am, the humidity level was recorded at 97 percent. (With inputs from PTI)
