
A dense layer of fog enveloped parts of outer Delhi on Saturday morning, leading to a significant drop in visibility and causing delays to 47 trains.
The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 10.2 degrees Celsius, which is 2.6 degrees above the seasonal average, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has predicted a partly cloudy sky during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 18 degrees Celsius.
The Indian Railways reported that 47 trains were running late as of 6 am due to the foggy conditions in the capital.
Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was measured at 247, falling in the ‘poor’ category.
An AQI of 0-50 is categorized as ‘good’, 51-100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 as ‘moderate’, 201-300 as ‘poor’, 301-400 as ‘very poor’, and 401-500 as ‘severe’.
