Two individuals on Wednesday were apprehended in connection with the demise of a 24-year-old man, who reportedly succumbed to head injuries sustained during a party in Greater Noida hosted by a mutual friend, a YouTuber.

The accused, both approximately 25 years old, were allegedly intoxicated when a dispute erupted between them and the victim, identified as Deepak Singh.

The incident occurred on the night of January 28 during a celebration organized to mark a milestone achieved by YouTuber Manish Singh, who was also a friend shared by both the accused and the deceased.

An FIR was filed at the Dankaur police station based on a complaint from Manish’s father, leading to the subsequent questioning and subsequent arrest of Yogendra and Vijay on Wednesday, as confirmed by a police spokesperson.

The altercation unfolded at Mohammadpur Gurjar during the party hosted by Manish. The heated dispute, fueled by excessive alcohol consumption among attendees, resulted in Deepak being punched on the head and assaulted before leaving for his home, according to Additional DCP (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar Sharma.

Deepak’s health deteriorated later that night, prompting his admission to a hospital, where he ultimately succumbed on January 29 due to a head blood clot, as per the police report. The accused now face charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rioting, assault, and causing death by negligence
