Election Results 2024: The contest in the parliamentary constituency of North West Delhi became rather one-sided as Bharatiya Janata Party’s Yogender Chandolia claimed victory by a massive margin of over 2.8 lakh votes, against Udit Raj of Congress.
The BJP MP candidate secured victory by 2,82,723 votes, getting 8,43,114 votes. On the other hand, Raj, a former BJP MP, secured 5,62,537 votes.
Chandolia served as Standing Committee Chairperson of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). He has been deeply involved in the political circles of the national capital from his student days. This was his first foray into national politics.
On the other hand, Raj entered national politics through BJP in 2014, whereupon he was elected to Lok Sabha.
However, ahead of the 2019 elections, he switched sides to the Congress. He was also a member of the Income Tax Department in Delhi, serving as Deputy Commissioner and an Additional Commissioner, in two separate terms.

The constituency has 25,67,423 voters. There has been an increase by around 7% since 2019. There are 11,83,450 females and 13,83,711 males among the voters. There are 262 transgenders.
The most contentious problem in the constituency has been the lack of connectivity between the constituency and the better part of the national capital. Poor roads, waterlogging and a lack of educational institutions were also focal issues on which the voters voted.
The constituency is comprised of Narela, Badli, Rithala, Bawana, Mundka, Kirari Sultanpur Majra, Nangloi Jat, Mangol Puri and Rohini assembly constituencies.
