Fire at plastic mould unit in Delhi’s Samaypur Badli Industrial Area; 3 receive minor injuries

A fire broke out at a plastic moulding manufacturing unit in outernorth Delhi’s Samaypur Badli Industrial Area early Saturday, leaving three people with minor injuries, officials said.

The fire was reported at around 12.30 am in Phase-2 of the industrial area, following which multiple fire tenders were rushed to the spot, they said.

The Delhi Fire Service received several calls regarding the blaze following which a total of 15 fire-fighting units, including a Bronto aerial ladder platform, were deployed.

The plastic moulding manufacturing unit was housed in a building comprising a basement, ground floor, first floor and second floor, besides a temporary structure on the terrace. The unit covered an area of around 250 square yards, they said.

The blaze was doused by 3.15 am, while cooling operations continued, officials said.

Three persons — Dharamvir (32), Mohammad Sarukh (41) and Amit (34) — suffered minor injuries in the incident, they said.

The three were taken to Ambedkar Hospital by members of the public before the arrival of the fire department and were given first aid, officials said.

They subsequently left the hospital.
