The India Meteorological Department has predicted light rain with gusty winds in Delhi on Thursday.

According to the weather department, this weather pattern is influenced by Cyclone Biparjoy, which is currently intensifying in the Arabian Sea, as stated by private forecasting agency Skymet Weather earlier this week.

Delhiites woke up to an overcast sky, with the minimum temperature settling at 29.1 degrees Celsius, slightly below the average for this season. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 39 degrees Celsius.

At 8:30 am, the relative humidity was recorded at 55 percent by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

On June 18 and 19, the city is likely to experience light rains or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds. Specifically, Thursday is expected to bring strong gusts of wind, with temperatures ranging from 30 to 39 degrees Celsius for the minimum and maximum respectively.

Interestingly, parts of Delhi, including Dwarka, received unexpected rainfall on Wednesday despite no rain forecast. The upcoming days are expected to provide some relief from the sweltering heat for Delhiites, as the weather office has forecasted light rains and thundershowers.

Until June 20, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 36 and 39 degrees Celsius, according to the weather office. (With inputs from PTI)
