The weather office has forecast ligh rain on Monday amid high humidity of over 50% even as Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 26.8°C. A similar spell of light rain is expected on Tuesday after the Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort.
On Sunday, the temperature in Delhi reached a high of 35.3 degrees Celsius, slightly exceeding the seasonal average. The minimum temperature during that period settled at 26.9 degrees Celsius, which is typical for this time of year.
The weather remained humid throughout the day, with humidity levels fluctuating between 57 and 74 percent.
The meteorological office has predicted a predominantly cloudy sky for Monday, with anticipated maximum and minimum temperatures of approximately 34 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively. Additionally, isolated instances of very light rain or thundershowers are likely.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, the meteorological office forecasts similar weather patterns, with the possibility of very light rain or thundershowers in the evening. The expected range for the minimum temperature is between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is projected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.
Only 0.2mm of rainfall has been recorded in Delhi over the last seven days. This month, Delhi’s Safdarjung weather station has recorded 71.5mm of rainfall. The long-period average for August is 233.1mm. (With inputs from PTI)
